I regularly observe individuals I am working with for other “unrelated” problems shed the extra pounds they have been carrying around for years without much effort. Many of them had even given up hope prior to finding me. Others come to their first appointment with “weight loss” written at the bottom of a list of five other, more concerning health issues. Before we have the chance turn our attention specifically to weight loss, the process is already well under-way. The other complaints, such as abdominal pain, fatigue, cravings, or rashes are clues pointing to the cause of their stubborn weight gain. This is exactly where fad diets and diet centers fail; the one-size-fits-all approach does not always work because there are so many different potential causes of weight gain. Even if you have great initial results with fad diet plans it is difficult to maintain weight loss if you haven’t fixed the underlying causes.
